About Kundalini Yoga

Kundalini Yoga is a transformative, effective, holistic and complete form of yoga, which is often referred to as the "yoga of consciousness" . This is because this form of yoga, in addition to physical exercise, focuses more on increasing our awareness and presence, both within ourselves and in interaction with the world around us.

We work to awaken our consciousness and activate the flow of Prana, our own life energy and inner power. Kundalini Yoga can therefore help you to unfold your potential and break through mental and self-limiting blockages through meditation and yoga exercises for body, mind and spirit. Typical of Kundalini Yoga are the dynamic yoga exercises, the use of various breathing techniques, sound vibrations, mantras and countless meditations.

You will also learn how to achieve a strong nervous system, good blood circulation and a vital and effective immune and hormonal system!

Several scientific studies have been done on Kundalini Yoga's powerful and medical effects on both body and psyche. "Medical Yoga" has its origins in Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan. It is this classical form of Kundalini Yoga that is practiced here at the Kundalini Yoga School in Oslo.

Each class at Kundalini Yoga School is structured differently and has a new theme that we work from.

Kundalini Yoga consists of a rich diversity of effective yogic exercises and techniques that are proven to give good and fast results!

Kundalini yoga does not have a set series of exercises, unlike yoga forms such as Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Iyengar, Virya and Classical Hatha Yoga, which often follow specific sequences of yoga exercises. Kundalini Yoga consists of a wide range of different Kriya's (yoga sets) that each work on different aspects of our physical, emotional and mental health.

Kundalini yoga is for everyone! Regardless of health, age, religious affiliation, and situation, and is equally suitable for men bowing heads1and women. The wide range of different techniques and guidelines means that there is something to find for everyone.

What is the effect of Kundalini yoga?

Kundalini yoga is a tool that helps to awaken your consciousness and bring you closer to yourself. The exercises we do have a strong cleansing effect where not only toxins are excreted, but also inner stress, fear, frustrations, anger and possibly pain can be processed and let go. The techniques we do can help you become aware and thus accept and change your physical, mental and emotional state, while at the same time you become more at peace with yourself. The courses are also suitable for those of you who want to create a quiet space during the week with space to integrate everyday demands and at the same time be in an inspiring setting with other people.
